Living in San Francisco for almost 5 years now, I discovered a love for walks around the city. San Francisco has plenty to offer and most of the time with incredible views which means climbing hills! Walking to the Coit tower is one of my favorite. I usually start from North Beach but this time, I wanted to make it a little more adventurous so we started our walk from Embarcadero to the Filbert street steps on Telegraph hill! The steps run through cute little houses with charming gardens. It is so pretty and smells so good. And when you need a little break from the steps you just turn around and enjoy the spectacular view! San Francisco, I love you!

1/ Loving my new african purse from Curator in San Francisco.

2/ I am craving ice cream everyday during my pregnancy! My husband bought the ice cream maker attachment for the Kitchen Aid and I had those molds from last year (probably bought at Target). We made our first flavor this weekend! Yummy vanilla!

3/ Handmade bracelets, obsessed with shells and tassels!

4/ Maggie doesn’t seem to like the sun very much, she’s always looking for the spot in the shade. New transat from Ikea, I love it, so good when I need a break from work!

5/ Woodland doll I received fro my baby girl from my sister! So cute!

6/ Colorful houses on my morning walk in the Missin District, San Francisco.

8/ I am finally learning how to knit! The wonderful and talented Rachel T. Roberston, art director at Anthropologie is teaching me and my friend Sophie! My paper rabbits in Kana’s home!

It’s always nice to see how my customers display my products in their home. When Kana showed me photos of her adorable daughter standing next to the paper bunnies, I couldn’t resist sharing them with you! How cute!!! Look at her precious face! And outfit! This makes me even more impatient to have my baby girl!

My paper ladies in shadow boxes!

I finally found a nice way to protect my paper ladies. At first I thought having them behind a glass would hide them because of the reflection but I found those shadow boxes that I think work really great. I love that they are white because it make the inside pop more and it looks really nice on the wall. I’ve been selling high quality prints of my illustrations on my shop but it’s always better to buy an original pice right? especially if it is three-dimensional.

So I will be selling some of these in my shop soon and I also accept custom order! If you want a portrait of your family, of your house and bike… anything! Just ask me at hello@chloefleury.com and I’d be happy to discuss the project with you.

I just discovered Alicia’s work a few hours ago while shopping on Fillmore st. in San Francisco. Some of her bright and colorful pieces are exhibited at Erica Tanov (one of my favorite shops in the city). You can see why I love her work, we both share the same love for colors! It is so delicate, poetic and decorative. I wish I could offer myself a piece to decorate my apartment! I am so into weaving lately, if you remember I wrote a little post about the artist Brook&Lyn a few months ago. She does weaving too. I need to find some classes, I really really want to learn this technique!

Pink for summer!

About a month ago I went to an indigo dying workshop with Lookout and Wonderland. My friend Sophie and I enjoyed it so much that we wanted to do it again at home with a pink dye this time.

Last sunday was so sunny, we did it in my backyard and my friend Sandra was of the party too! This was really fun and a great way to spend a sunday afternoon with friends.

Each season I like to redecorate my bedroom, something neutral and cozy for fall/winter and something more colorful for spring/summer. Bye bye my black tree cushion and brown furry blanket, see you next winter!

I decided to make pillow cases and I really like the result! I’ll show you in a next post my summer bedroom! I also dyed a piece of fabric that I will use for a scarf or a baby blanket maybe…

We just needed our white fabrics/clothes, some rubber bands and beads and we used the petal pink dye, it is a very easy process!

I can say I am really obsessed since the first workshop, I think I might try a few other colors soon!

The Salvation Mountain!

I am back in San Francisco after a “5 days weekend” in Indio for Coachella music festival. It was my fourth time this year (lucky me, I know) and I wanted to take advantage of this one day before and one day after the festival to see more of Palm Springs and the surroundings. So here is my first post about this amazing weekend, starting with the Salvation Mountain!

You know how much I love colors, so when about 10 years ago, still living in France, I watched a documentary on TV about this place, I was so intrigued and I’ve been dreaming about going since then. You might have seen it in the beautiful movie Into the Wild.

Here I am, 10 years later, on a crazy windy day, finally visiting the Salvation Mountain, lost in the middle of nowhere after an hour and half drive from Palm Spring. No Emile Hirsch on my sight but still, I am fascinated by this colorful art installation/mural, created in 1984 by local resident Leonard Knight.

And the best one for the end….
