Lula has been adorable during our road trip with my parents. We drove for so many hours, we are very lucky she loves being in the car seat. She napped and played, read books with my mum and admired Arizona’s magical landscape.
That time when in my mum’s arms she grabbed my dad to give him a big hug while I tried to take a picture of them three.
Her new little bracelet we got at an indian reserve. I put in on her when she was asleep in the car, when she woke up and saw it she was so happy! She kept smiling and touching it. I think she’s gonna like jewelry as much as I do!
Mandatory stop on the road near Flagstaff, playing indian in the tepee.
My parents came to visit these first couple weeks of august so instead of staying in San Francisco which they know well already, we planned a little road trip from LA to Arizona for 8 days. It was really fun, last time they saw Lula she was about 5 months old. Even if we Skype at least once a week and send many photos and videos, I was so happy for them to finally see her crawling, talking, waving, standing up….seeing all the new things she does and how a happy and funny little girl she is!
The first day of our trip was in LA, mandatory stop at Santa Monica’s ferris wheel as Lula’s birthday invitation I made represent her in the ferris wheel. So my dad, Lula and I went for a little ride. That was her first time and she looooved it. Standing on her tippy toes, she was so curious and wanted to see everything. The view and the light were beautiful!
We met with a few friends at Yuba River on saturday. It is about 2 hours and half north east from San Francisco near a super cute little town called Nevada City. We hiked for 20min to arrive to this magical place. We spent most of the day in the water, babies in floaters, we had a nice picnic and watched the babies play together. It was super fun and I can’t wait to go back. I wish I took more photos to show you the beautiful scenery. Thank you so much to our friends Anastassia and Dan who we met a few weeks ago in Mexico for inviting us to their annual trip to Yuba river’s secret spot.
Lula is wearing a Bobo Chose hat, Gap swimsuit and Zara sandals.
We are back in San Francisco after a fantastic week of vacation, one of the best so far. I really fell in love with this city. Here are the last photos of our trip. I took so many during this week, it took me a long time to select them.
One month of work until the next vacation! My parents are coming this august for Lula’s birthday (she turns 1 in less than 2 months!!!) and we are planning a road trip to Arizona. Then we are going to France and Morocco. I know, life is hard. Oh I love you summer!
And the vacation came to an end. We were so sad to leave this magical place but we’ll definitely be back. I wish we’d stayed a little longer but a big pile of work was waiting for me in San Francisco. I am currently working on some very exciting projects I can’t wait to share.
This is my very favorite shop in Sayulita, it is called Ula. Gorgeous embroidered dresses and pompoms everything: purses, necklaces, garlands, wall hangings, scarves…heaven! Such an inspiration!
Waiting for our fish tacos to be served! One of the best place and the cheapest is right next door to Ula!
We finally went to the store I’ve heard a lot about: Pacha mama owned by the Mignot sisters. They have a gorgeous space with colorful suspended hammocks. Lula had fun playing with the dreamcatcher and coconut.
A last stop at gorgeous hotel Hafa, these colors! I could have spent hours there. I want the pillows and neon walls!
This little girl is always happy to eat!
Another amazing day in Sayulita, walking around the little town, eating fish tacos, swimming…and repeat, the best!
This shop is called Evoke, it has gorgeous jewelry, decorated skulls and blankets. I post some photos of that same shop on day 1 but they have two locations. This one is by the beach.
This is the super charming hotel Hafa. Hearts everywhere! We spent some time relaxing on the beautiful rooftop.
Pompoms, beach toys and fun bags everywhere!
And pretty walls…
Of course everyday we have to make a stop at a café to watch the world’s cup. This one had the cutest baby high chair so Lula watched the game too and was very excited, except when they won and everyone shout for joy she got scared and cried…
At the end of the day we went for a little hike in the jungle where we saw plenty of crabs and a Volkswagen beetle to finally arrive to the beautiful Mal Paso beach.
We are having the best time in Sayulita. The little hippy/surfer town is even better than I expected, it is seriously the best and I am really considering to move there for a few months! It is so happy and colorful, people are so nice, it is very authentic and not too touristy. There are so many gorgeous little shops that sells local handmade products like hamacs, baskets, woven purses, blankets and pillows, embroidered dresses…I want to buy everything! It is pom poms heaven, I have never seen that many before and you know how much I love pom poms. It feels like this town was built for me. I fell in love with this village like I never did before. The house we rented on Airbnb is really great, we have a private little rooftop with a pool that is just perfect for Lula. We eat the best fish and shrimp tacos! It is super hot and humid but we get used to it quickly! I don’t bother blow drying my hair, so these are my wild and natural hair.
Sayulita is the coolest place, I want to stay for ever.
Mexico here we come!
Tomorrow I am flying with my little family to Sayulita, a cute surfer town in Mexico I’ve heard so much about for the last couple years. We are finally going and I am so excited about it!
You know how much I love colors, so this place looks like a dream to me. I am really looking forward to walking around this colorful and happy little town, eating some fish tacos, listen to music (Lula shakes her butt every time she hears music, this is the cutest thing ever), having some beach/pool time with Lula, maybe try surf and of course shopping! Especially at Pacha Mama boutique owned by the famous Mignot sisters.
Paper swimsuit inspired by this very much wanted Mara Hoffman bikini and Karen Walker sunglasses!
A few more photos of our trip to NYC for the holidays. Now getting ready for my next trip! France in a couple weeks! Finally! I’ve been waiting for so long to be able to travel to France so the rest of my family and friends can meet Lula. I now have my visa paperworks in order to do so. I am so excited! We’ll have to bring out again the hats, gloves and fur, the weather in France might not be as warm as in California…(yes, 20 degrees celsius in San Francisco today, yes I know am lucky)
She kept making cute noises and smiling when we were at Time Square!
This was at the Museum of Natural History, so giant it was hard to take a photo!
2013 was definitely the best year of my life! A year so full of joy! I was lucky to work for clients I’ve always dreamed to work for such as Milk Magazine, Cosmopolitan Magazine, Gap Baby among many others. A beautiful trip to Maui and fun weekends in Coachella, Palm springs, Los Angeles, NY…! I enjoyed so much being pregnant and the birth of my baby girl was the most beautiful and magical moment. I had so much fun working on my baby announcement and decorating her nursery. All the new beautiful and talented people I met and friends I made! The workshops I’ve been to, the new techniques I learned. And I am so thankful for all the bunny customers. I am so glad for all the support and encouraging words. Thank you thank you thank you!
Here is to 2014! I am looking forward to see my baby girl growing up (even if I wish she’d stay small), seeing her first steps and listening to her first words. And I am so exciting for the future illustration projects I’ll be working on! I am also working on new products for the shop I hope I’ll be able to share soon. I hope 2014 is a year of travel: South America, Morocco, Japan… and starting with France in february! My brother, grand-parents and friends will finally meet Lula! I am so so excited and impatient. We are also planning on a road trip to Arizona in spring! How fun!
As for my resolutions, I want to learn more about knitting and weaving. I want to learn ukulele! My husband offered my one for christmas! Now I don’t have anymore excuses not to do it. Also getting back to running, read more and find a hobby to share with my husband, we’ve been talking about taking lessons together, maybe photography or cooking…
