Spent mostly at our hotel’s pool and in restaurants because of the heat! I am not used to stay at a hotel when I go on vacation, I like to discover places, walk around, go to the museums, shopping … but seriously, it was way too hot to do anything else other than be in the pool. On saturday, after brunch I tried to go for a little walk by myself in the Old Town of Scottsdale for the beautiful Navajo jewelries, but after 20 minutes I couldn’t stand the heat anymore so I just went back to the hotel and join my girl for a nap. On Sunday we went to visit the Franck Lloyd right foundation but it was only a guided tour and the lady advised us to come back on Monday, early in the morning so it would be nicer/safer for Lula, me and the baby. Unfortunately Monday (today), I was at my desk working. So it was not the most productive weekend but a very colorful and relaxing one. And Lula’s happy place is the pool anyway!
Sayulita is such an inspiring place, so many colors and pretty hidden spots. There are so many other places I want to visit in Mexico, I can’t wait for the next trip! I hope you enjoy these photos.
A beautiful yarn painted skull at Evoke I wish I had taken home with me!
I went to Sayulita for the first time last summer, instantly fell in love and dreamed about going back since.
This time I went with my good friend Zoe. My first trip without Lula, before this week I never left her, not even for one night. I was a little scared at first, tried to convinced my husband to join us for the weekend… but he insisted on the fact that it was a good thing for me to take some time for myself and relax. And he was right, it was a much needed vacation that felt so good! Not to worry about grocery shopping, making dinner, prepare the lunchbox, the time, tidying the house and the toys/books (5 times a day), not being waken up by the cat at 5am and dealing with Lula’s tantrums (those terrible 2!) in the morning when I put on her clothes…
5 days of freedom, wearing dresses and sandals, going to the beach, eating popsicles and tacos, shopping (without an impatient/bored husband next to me) and relaxing on the magical rooftop of our beautiful hotel.
So much inspiration everywhere!
Watching the magical sunset from the beach.
But still thinking about Lula and how much fun she would have had at the beach.
I am obsessed with this yellow wall!
I bought a few beaded bracelet, I love the patterns and the colors, they are the perfect accessorizes for summer. And before I left for Sayulita, I received this beautiful rimini bangle from Margareth Elizabeth jewelry as a mother’s day present. I am honored to be featured today on the blog as part of a chic moms series!
I was looking through my photos, organizing files and found these photos my sister took of me and Lula last september when we were in France, in my hometown Lyon. She was 13 months old. One of the things I missed the most from living in France is le marché (farmer’s market)! These photos were taken on a sunny sunday morning at the Marché du quai Saint-Antoine.
I studied 4 years in Aix-en-Provence, in south of France where farmer’s market are the best! There was one at the little place down my building, I used to pass by every morning on my way to school. The smells, the colors…made me so happy! I would go almost every weekend.
Oh and also the pink praline brioche! Which is a speciality from Lyon.
Last weekend we took the train for a long ride (but worth it at the end, watching the sunset from San Luis Obispo to SB was so magical) to Santa Barbara early on Saturday morning. We spent the night there and drove to LA on Sunday, had lunch and did a little bit of shopping (Pebble and Heyoka Hideout) in the dreamy Topanga Canyon on the way. In LA we spent a couple night in this super fun Airstream in Venice, just a few blocks from Abbot Kinney street and the beach. It was a really fun and unique experience! The property has a lot of character and the garden is beautiful. Lula made friend with Felix the bunny and the flamingos. I loved the outdoor shower! Would love to stay there again but maybe during summer, when the nights are warmer.
We went to LACMA for the first time, Lula had so much fun in the noodles and the urban lights! We spent some time at the beach, she loves the sand so much I’ve never seen her that happy. She would just let herself fell on the sand, roll and do some fun figures.
Here are a few pics from our trip! Have a great weekend!
She gave a little kiss goodbye to the flamingo!
We ended 2014 in our Moon Boots! We just came back from a fantastic week in Tahoe with friends! See you next week for the year in review!
Have a wonderful weekend and Happy 2015!
It was our last day in my hometown, Lyon a couple weeks ago. A sunny sunday morning walk along the docks with my family followed by a delicious lunch at Les Halles, oysters and mussels on the menu…
Last week we were in magical Morocco, I will share photos soon. We got back in San Francisco a couple days ago after one month of vacation. We are still super jet-lagged and also sick. I hope we’ll all feel better soon, I have so much work to do! Thank you to all my customers for your orders, they will be shipped very soon. Thank you all for your support, I am so glad you love my products and I love to see your photos on Instagram, keep sharing!
Have a beautiful weekend!
(Photos by my sister and me)
We went to the park this afternoon for a little walk with my family. I love so much those first days of autumn when you feel that first crisp breeze! The temperature dropped by almost 10 degrees this week, summer is officially gone. Lula and I can wear our new vests! Hello my favorite season! (well, not for long because we are going to Morocco next week)
Lula started walking by herself a couple days ago! This is the cutest thing ever! I got her a mini stroller and a doll at Le Petit Souk in Lyon this morning and she loooves them! (I also fell for this one I first saw in Paris a couple weeks ago)
Remember the swan floater we had at Lula’s birthday party? Well, he travelled back to France with my parents to welcome us in the pool when we arrived last week. It feels so good to do nothing but relax by the pool. We were in Paris and Ile de Ré last weekend and we are going to Aix-en-Provence (where I studied and I haven’t been back there for 8 years!), Sainte-Maxime and Saint-Tropez this weekend and Morocco at the end of the month, I can’t wait! It is the first time in 6 years that I spend more than 2 weeks in France and it is really nice to have more time to relax between running everywhere to see family and friends…
This was my favorite part of the road trip. I was much more impressed by Sedona than Grand Canyon. Less touristy and those colors! Just magnificent! Unfortunately there was a big fire in Oak Creek Canyon in may, so most of the trails we are closed for safety. But it was still a nice drive to Sedona and with the heat, we couldn’t have hiked too far with Lula in the carrier anyway.
That afternoon was cloudy and stormy and I love the atmosphere it created. The sky and shadows from the clouds on the rocks made it even more impressive.
The Chapel of the Holy Cross built into the red rock cliffs is spectacular and the view from it is amazing.
Another cute beaded bracelet my mum got for Lula at the indian reserve.
