We couldn’t have hoped for a better big sister. Lula has been the sweetest since we welcomed Anouk. She asks for her sister all the time, the first thing she does when she comes home from preschool is to look for her and she has a big smile on her face when she sees her. She gives her kisses, hold her tiny hands, rock her if she cries, sing to her… and watching them interact is simply the best. I can’t believe how grown up she looks all of a sudden!

38 weeks! 11 days to go!

11 more days to go! I can’t believe how fast this pregnancy went by and we are soon going to be a family of four! I asked my friend to come by the house the other day to capture one of my last days being pregnant, enjoying a cup of tea in cozy clothes and my favorite hammock chair! I know I will spend a lot of time in here with my baby.

I am so so excited and can’t wait to see Lula as a big sister. She loves babies so much and she is so gentle with them, she likes to put a little blanket on, bring toys, kiss them, sing… I am sure she is going to take her role very seriously. I also know it will be a little challenging and frustrating for her because she won’t be able to do everything she wants to do like push her in her doll stroller, holding her too tight or dress her up. She’s already taking her baby sister’s clothes out of the dresser and try to put them on her dolls or the cat…same with the diapers. For now, she doesn’t really understand what’s going on, sometimes she points my belly and says “bébé” but she’ll only realize once the baby is here. I can’t wait to see how she’ll react, I am a little anxious too on how to handle everything, make sure she doesn’t get jealous. I already feel guilty about the fact that she won’t get as much attention as she used to be. I would love if you have any advice!

Goodbye Summer!

I know we’ve already said goodbye to summer about a week ago but it doesn’t feel quite yet like fall in San Francisco. September and October are usually the best months of the year (I mean they are my favorite) where we can enjoy really nice and warm days. But I am excited for cooler days, sweater weather and getting cozy for the arrival of our baby girl in November, so soon!

For now, I am remembering the wonderful time we had in Greece with my family this summer. My parents rented a house on the island of Paros, in a charming little village called Parikia. Lula and I, my parents, my sister and brother in law all met for 12 days. Only my husband had to stay in San Francisco for work and my brother in London. Next time maybe! It’s so rare to be able to all meet at the same time in one place now we all live in different countries.

It was such a nice and relaxing trip. Walking around the little streets of Parikia, visiting other villages on the island like Naoussa, take the boat to beautiful beaches.

You might have seen these photos already if you follow me on Instagram.

My girl! I love this photo of her with the pink door so much! Those little legs!

And that blue! I want to go back!

Looking at these photos of me in these dresses makes me realize how much my belly had grown since! I was around 25 weeks pregnant in France. Have you seen my pregnancy style feature in MOTHER mag last week? I was wearing the same dresses at 31 weeks.

Lula is 2!

How did that happen? How can she be 2 already?! I feel like we celebrated her first birthday yesterday…

We celebrated with the family in France where we spent our summer (a month ago already, she turned 2 on august 17th). My parents had bought two little strawberry plants for when we arrived to surprise Lula, everyday she went to pick the red ones, tried to eat the green ones too, she would eat them all if we didn’t stop her, she loves strawberries so much! So I thought a strawberry theme for her birthday would be fun. I made a pinata that I filled up with all her favorite things: stickers, little dolls, jewelries, candies… and confettis!

She’s had her first candies when we were in France and ice-cream and chocolate almost everyday thanks to her grand-parents! She knows the words for these really well now and keep asking for some since we got back! But the vacations are over…

We had a beautiful strawberry cake too that I didn’t get a chance to photograph before it started melting, it was so warm that day!

My Pregnancy Style – 25 weeks in Greece!

Dress – Sandro, Sunglasses – Illesteva, Sandals – Old Navy, Basket – Vintage

I fell in love with this dress as soon as I saw it in the shop and had to get it even if I know I won’t be able to wear it for long with my fast growing belly (good thing I got it on sale)! Sadly our family vacations in Greece came to an end. It was such a fun and relaxing trip. The island of Paros where we spent the week is super charming, we loved walking around, eating Greek food, shopping for souvenirs and taking the boat to beautiful beaches. I’ll post more photos next week.

We are back at my parent’s in Lyon (France) and celebrated Lula’s second birthday today with my family. I can’t believe she is 2, just like that. I remember every details of the day of her birth like it was yesterday. And I can’t believe she is going to be a big sister in 3 months!!! I am now looking at the date on my computer and read August 22nd, my due date is November 22!

Enjoy your weekend!

PS: Lula and I are featured on Babiekins Magazine today, I answered a few questions about art and motherhood, check out the interview here!

Our Weekend In Arizona!

Spent mostly at our hotel’s pool and in restaurants because of the heat! I am not used to stay at a hotel when I go on vacation, I like to discover places, walk around, go to the museums, shopping … but seriously, it was way too hot to do anything else other than be in the pool. On saturday, after brunch I tried to go for a little walk by myself in the Old Town of Scottsdale for the beautiful Navajo jewelries, but after 20 minutes I couldn’t stand the heat anymore so I just went back to the hotel and join my girl for a nap. On Sunday we went to visit the Franck Lloyd right foundation but it was only a guided tour and the lady advised us to come back on Monday, early in the morning so it would be nicer/safer for Lula, me and the baby. Unfortunately Monday (today), I was at my desk working. So it was not the most productive weekend but a very colorful and relaxing one. And Lula’s happy place is the pool anyway!

22 months!

I can’t believe my Lula turns 2 in just a couple months! She is the sweetest and funniest little girl. I love her dance moves, every day when she comes home from daycare she asks for music and our living room turns into a dance floor! She loves pretending she is on the phone and laughing like she’s having a very funny conversation. Sometimes she even put her hand (imaginary phone) to our cat ear to share the conversation. She also, just like us, put the phone between her shoulder and ear when she has her hands full. I love that every morning when she wakes up she comes in our bedroom, jump in our bed and give me a big kiss on the mouth. I like a little less that now she has a toddler bed and knows how to open the door, she wake us up at 5.30 or 6 which used to be 7.30 or 8. Also after giving me a kiss she comes around the bed to my bedside table, give me my glasses and put my phone in my hand and says “Tro Tro!” (it’s a french cartoon), so funny! And even if we don’t like to let her watch too many cartoons, it gives us a extra 30 minutes to sleep! I love that she like books and ask for them all the time, reading before bedtime is a precious moment.

Her favorite words (the ones she uses the most, a mix of english, french and spanish words) are “gateau” (cookie), “tétine” (pacifier), “all done!”, “agua”, “this!”, “dessine” (draw), “ballon” (balloon) and “bubble”, “stop it maman”, “piscine” and “tut-tut” when she sees a truck, bus…She knows more and more words every weeks, every days. She repeats a lot what we say and it is so funny to hear songs and other things she learned at school. Last week she kept singing ” gulp, gulp, oh nooo!” during diner time, with my husband we had no idea what it meant, so we recorded her and showed the video the her teacher who told us that was a song called Slippery fish, they sing it together with the other kids. Because English isn’t our first language and we went to school in France, this is all new to us. We have so many songs, stories to learn. She also loves singing the A, B, C; Freres Jacques and other french “comptines”…

Do your kids have favorite songs? books? cartoons?

Her hairs are finally growing! yay!
