I hope you had a lovely weekend!
I spent most of mine working, wrapping up some clients projects and orders from the shop before Lula and I leave for a month and half (maybe two) tomorrow! London, France and Greece… I seriously can’t wait!
I was so envious of Lula’s pineapple sunglasses from Gap kids but couldn’t find them in my size so I had to make myself paper ones! And this is what I plan on doing for these next 2 months… a much needed vacation and I am so happy Lula will get to spend a lot of time with our family and friends.
On a recent post I was talking about one of Lula’s favorite book Bienvenue a Dreamland, another favorite is I am a bunny, I read it to her so many time, I know it by heart and that little bunny Nicholas is adorable. Lula loves her bunnies, she has the Jellycat in all sizes and many different colors. It is funny how she can imitate all the animals but can’t say their names yet, she doesn’t say bunny but she says “palin” instead of “lapin” (the french for bunny). Too cute!
She loves books a lot, she started saying “book” I guess it’s easier to pronounce than “livre”. She used to come grab my hand to take me to her room and say “this, this!” pointing her books. Now she says “books” all the time! The other day I caught her reading a book to her doll, so adorable. I just love watching this little girl grow, I can’t believe she’ll be 2 in a couple months.
Oh and miss Lula got a new pair of Vans! I might get the matching ones…
Have a colorful day!
If you’ve been following me for a while, you probably know what Lula’s nursery used to look like. A bunnyland with a mint, blush and grey color palette.
Lula is now almost 2 years old (21 months to be exact, already?!!) and I’ve been rearranging her bedroom for the last couple months. She is a big girl now who loves colors, animals, playing with her dolls, dancing, cooking, hiding in her teepee, reading stories… A girl full of energy and adventurous. She started climbing her bed a couple months ago, until she fell out one morning! I never thought this moment would arrive so fast! Most of my friends kids are still in their crib until 2 and half-3 years old. So we first removed the front panel from her crib while I was looking for a toddler bed.
I have been following the work of Kalon Studios for some time and I was obsessed with their beautiful caravan divan. So Lula climbing out her crib actually gave me a good excuse to finally get it! I think it looks perfect in her new room. I love the modern lines, especially the legs and the pink color on natural wood. And I like that when she’ll grow out of it, we’ll still be able to use it as a little divan to seat on with pretty cushions on the sides.
I started bringing more colors in her room by adding other paper animals than the bunny with bright colored backdrop. In the frame on top of the raccoon is the original paper art I made for her baby announcement and the ice cream cone is a prop I made from her first birthday. I got the poms garland in Mexico and the God’s eye too.
I wanted her room now to feel more personal and unique, inspiring for her, filled with colors and decorations that are not baby decoration that you’ve seen a million times already. Objects we brought back from our trips in Morocco and Mexico. My husband is half Moroccan. Paper decorations I made, photos, gifts… from her first almost 2 years.
It is still a work in progress but like every room in our home, I like to move things around all the time!
Every time she sees a basket or paper bag, box… she has to put it on her head! This cute mini basket is one of the few I bought in the souk in Marrakesh!
Oh hello! Her outfit is from Pink Chicken.
The name of this post and Lula’s bedroom is inspired by her favorite french book called Bienvenue a Dreamland. This is a super fresh and colorful book representing scenes at the beach, at the theme park, in tree houses with animals and cute little characters like a grandmother skateboarding, a flying pig… so many fun and magical details to look for.
Lula loves her new bed, you should have seen her face when she saw it for the first time in her room. In two seconds she was jumping on it with a huge smile. She is still adjusting to it at night. We found her a few times sleeping on the floor with her bunnies against the door, because she wanted to get out but didn’t know how to open the door…until this morning!
During the day she likes to put her dolls and bunnies to sleep in her bed. She puts them under the blanket, give them a kiss and say “dodo”. I love her so much!
Her crib used to be against that grey wall and the teepee on the other side of the room, where the bed is now. I like this new setup, I think she likes it too! On the white wall you can see my paper bunny and a garland from my friend Jordan’s BrightLab!
I bought this gorgeous embroidered scarf (not sure how to call it) in Mexico, as well as the striped blanket and the poms on the bear.
Always hugging her friends!
This beautiful Peruvian cushion is from Leif, my favorite online shop!
Shoes, shoes, shoes… I don’t know which one of us has the biggest collection! She loves trying on my shoes and walk around the apartment with them, she also like to put her shoes on her dolls, bunnies…and us! Lula is wearing sandals from Zara which I need to find in my size! I am wearing Jelly sandals from American apparel and the ones in the basket are Freshly picked moccasins! We got this beautiful rug in Morocco, during our trip last summer. I am obsessed with it and I want another one…or two!
I started a little photo gallery on her wall of friends and family, we also have one in the kitchen and in the hallway. She likes to pass by, point and say who she sees in the photos. We are teaching her names. It is the cutest thing to hear the way she pronounces them, you should hear her say “Augustine”, her friend’s name.
She also loves her kitchen my parents offered her for Christmas. She pretends she put salt and pepper and the casserole and taste the imaginary food and say “mmmm” and offers me to taste as well. She like put put things in oven, Every time a key or remote control seems missing, we know this is where we’ll find it.
I got the colorful rattle in Mexico and the mini grocery bag at Mapamundi kids, a new fun store for kids in San Francisco.
This cute hairpin is from Hello Shiso. I know she doesn’t have many hair yet but I’m just so impatient and I couldn’t resist. Her hairs seem actually to be growing lately! I am so excited. All our friend’s kids and others we meet at the park who are younger or same age as Lula have always more hairs. I am so jealous! But sometimes, especially during dinner time I am actually happy she doesn’t have much. It is really hard to take lasagna off hairs!!!
Thank you to Sabrina Bot for these beautiful photos of my girl in her new room.
I hope you have a colorful week!
Hey! I recently move into a new studio! It’s located in the sunny Mission District. It feels so good to have my own space and get ready everyday (I used to work in my pj’s and shower at 2pm). Before we had Lula, her nursery was my studio, then it became half nursery half studio but very soon I had to move all my stuff out of her room and put my desk in our bedroom. It worked for a few months but then I needed a real space dedicated to my work. I thought it would be hard at first because I loved working from home but I am really glad I made this decision. I ride my bike there everyday and the best thing is that it’s half way from our home and Lula’s nanny. So I can pick her up after my work day is done, she’s only 5 minutes away.
More photos to come soon! This one is from Maria Del Rio.
Hello! Are you as excited as I am that there’s only 3 days left until Christmas?! I can’t wait to be playing in the snow in Tahoe with Lula friday and get cozy under a blanket watching movies! A much needed week of vacation!
Here are a couple of fun images I made in collaboration with the talented Eva Black and her beautiful lettering work.

Have a wonderful week!
Sorry for the lack of post lately, these past couple weeks have been a little complicated between Lula sick, the jet lag and the big pile of work that was waiting for me when we came back from vacation. Thank god my new intern just arrived and Lula seems to finally getting better. I hate seeing her so weak, she is usually such a happy girl with a lot of energy and almost never cries.
Here are some new illustrations I made for the Netherlands magazine Libelle. This is for a guide about going outdoor on adventures with your girlfriends. All I am thinking about right now! In 14 months with Lula, I never spent a night away from her, not even a full day. I never felt the need to escape for a little bit and I love so much spending the weekends with my little family, those moments are so precious to me. But maybe it would be the time for a nice weekend to relax with friends…rent a little cabin in the woods and explore nature.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend full of adventures!
Lula turns 1 on august 17th! This is so soon, I can’t believe it! Here is the little invitation I sent to her friends via Instagram. The theme will be “fete foraine” which means amusement park. It is inspired by the well-known Parc de la tete d’or in my hometown Lyon in France. I used to go a lot and brought Lula for the first time last february when she was just 5 months old. I can’t wait to go during our trip to France in september. Cotton candy, swans, swing, duck fishing game… a lot of fun activities, I can’t wait to celebrate my baby girl’s first birthday!

I was so excited last month when agency Alma DDB in Miami reached me to work on a new McDonalds campaign for the Happy Meal. I mean who doesn’t know McDonalds? Funny thing actually, I’ve been trying to tell my american friends who I was working for during the project and they couldn’t understand the name, I had to say it like ten times and then spell it…I’ve been living in the US for almost 6 years now and there are still some words I can’t pronounce like squirrel or water! “Can I have a bottle of water please?” “I’m sorry what?” you should have seen me at the supermarket the other day…embarrassing.
So, I have had a lot of fun working this project. I hope you like it. I don’t really eat meat anymore but making those miniature burgers made me really hungry for one.
More from this campaign coming soon!

Mexico here we come!
Tomorrow I am flying with my little family to Sayulita, a cute surfer town in Mexico I’ve heard so much about for the last couple years. We are finally going and I am so excited about it!
You know how much I love colors, so this place looks like a dream to me. I am really looking forward to walking around this colorful and happy little town, eating some fish tacos, listen to music (Lula shakes her butt every time she hears music, this is the cutest thing ever), having some beach/pool time with Lula, maybe try surf and of course shopping! Especially at Pacha Mama boutique owned by the famous Mignot sisters.
