A Boho Chic Mission Artist

Last week, Lula and I had a little street style featured in the 7×7 thanks to fashion writer Katie Hintz-Zambrano. I love the photos Maria Del Rio took of us! She’s the photographer who shot me last year in my studio for Refinery 29.

I am wearing a Free People dress, Scotch & Soda vest and earrings, Steve Madden boots and a vintage Zuni cuff. Lula is wearing a Tea dress (I wish they had it in my size) and Freshly Picked moccasins.

Creative Block

Yay! Creative Block has arrived! I received yesterday the book I am featured in. The writer, Danielle Krysa is an artist and the blogger behind the well-know Jealous Curator.

I am so proud and honored to be featured in this beautiful book, among these amazingly talented artists from all around the world. Creative Block shares the artists insight into their process and offer challenges to push you and help you moving forward when you are stuck! So fun!

Friends and followers in the bay area, come to Little Paper Planes march 5th from 7-9pm. The shop will be hosting the book launch party. There will be wine, sweet treats, and a few of the unblocking exercises set up. Books will be for sale at the event, or if you already have one please bring it for Danielle and the bay area artists (Arian Behzadi, Lisa Congdon, Kelly Lynn Jones and me!) to sign.

If they want to buy the book ahead of time it’s for sale at Barnes & Noble, Urban Outfitters, amazon.com, Chronicle Books (shop and online), and of course, at Little Paper Planes : )

Best of 2013

2013 was definitely the best year of my life!  A year so full of joy! I was lucky to work for clients I’ve always dreamed to work for such as Milk Magazine, Cosmopolitan Magazine, Gap Baby among many others. A beautiful trip to Maui and fun weekends in Coachella, Palm springs, Los Angeles, NY…! I enjoyed so much being pregnant and the birth of my baby girl was the most beautiful and magical moment. I had so much fun working on my baby announcement and decorating her nursery. All the new beautiful and talented people I met and friends I made! The workshops I’ve been to, the new techniques I learned. And I am so thankful for all the bunny customers. I am so glad for all the support and encouraging words. Thank you thank you thank you!

Here is to 2014! I am looking forward to see my baby girl growing up (even if I wish she’d stay small), seeing her first steps and listening to her first words. And I am so exciting for the future illustration projects I’ll be working on! I am also working on new products for the shop I hope I’ll be able to share soon. I hope 2014 is a year of travel: South America, Morocco, Japan… and starting with France in february! My brother, grand-parents and friends will finally meet Lula! I am so so excited and impatient. We are also planning on a road trip to Arizona in spring! How fun!

As for my resolutions, I want to learn more about knitting and weaving. I want to learn ukulele! My husband offered my one for christmas! Now I don’t have anymore excuses not to do it. Also getting back to running, read more and find a hobby to share with my husband, we’ve been talking about taking lessons together, maybe photography or cooking…

Read my favorite moment of 2013 and resolution for 2014 on Refinery 29.

What are yours?
