A couple weeks ago I invited a few friends over for a sunday brunch. It is becoming a tradition in my backyard. I just love sharing a good brunch outside, breathe in the fresh air and enjoy the colors of the falling leaves. Autumn is my favorite season. I spent a week organizing it, between the paper decors (leaves, cake stand, suspensions on the trees, cake topper, placemats), the styling (clothes and props), the baking/cooking…we even made the wood table top!
A big thank you to my friend photographer Kara who took these lovely photos. More to come!
Last friday, 2 days after Halloween was the San Francisco day of the dead procession, where I live in the Mission District. I discovered this celebration 2 years ago when my friend Nic told me about it, he said he liked it much better than Halloween here and he was so right. It is a walking procession with music and performances to a park with art installations, photos and candles to honor the dead.
Amazed by all the beautiful costumes and make up last year, I wanted this year to make my own flower crown and make up. So I invited a few girlfriends at my place to get ready together. My friend Julia and Eleonore from the lovely blog Un Beau Jour were of the party. We had a really good time!

A few months ago, I met with Jordan Ferney from the well-known party and lifestyle blog Oh Happy Day. We are both admiring each other’s work. I went to visit her studio and she came to mine. She asked me if I would like to work with her on a few paper DIY projects. Of course I couldn’t refuse the fun opportunity! So last week we worked on a paper party necklace and a moon piñata.
This is the result of a few hours of crafting, styling and shooting. That was a really fun experience. And a challenge for me to create in such a short time!
You can see all the photos and instructions for the paper necklace here and for the moon piñata here, I hope you like it and have fun crafting!
